Walking for Heath

Walking is a very beneficial, low impact way of getting in exercise. It's free and easy for most. It’s easier on the bones than running or jogging.  You don’t need a trainer or fancy equipment and it can be done almost anywhere.

“Numerous studies have shown people who get their 30 minutes minimum every day by simply walking have a dramatically reduced risk for chronic diseases in general,” Niall Moyna - DCU Professor of Clinical Exercise Physiology in the School of Health and Human Performance and Operation Transformation coach.

Walking In Roscommon

Roscommon is a sanctuary of wildflower meadows, native woodlands, peat bogs, turloughs, rivers and lakes. It is the perfect place to escape into nature. We have a number of trails throughout the county that invite you to spend time in our majestic landscapes. From short trails to long distance walks and cycling trails, it is easy to explore native forests that bustle with wildlife or tranquil shorelines that gently nourish our extensive flora and fauna.
