Re: Roscommon Volunteering Information Service
On behalf of Roscommon LEADER Partnership I would like to introduce you to a new service to County Roscommon; Roscommon Volunteering Information Service. Roscommon Volunteering Information Service is a service for individuals who wish to volunteer some of their free time and for organisations/groups that need voluntary support. It is a web based service, which aims to increase the numbers volunteering in the County and promote volunteering as a rewarding and fulfilling activity. The website also includes information on training available to volunteers and volunteer organisations, upcoming events and latest news, together with links to other relevant sites.
Roscommon Volunteering Information Service is supported by Roscommon LEADER Partnership and is an associate affiliate of Volunteer Ireland. Volunteer Ireland is the national volunteer development agency and a support body for Volunteer Centres and Volunteering Information Services in Ireland. To register your group & post volunteering opportunities for your group please go to www.volunteerroscommon.ie.
A Volunteering Steering Committee has recently been established and has membership from Roscommon PPN. The committee hopes to focus on promoting volunteering opportunities in the County, whilst also increasing the numbers of people who volunteer. Volunteer Management Training for Groups and Organisations who host volunteers and a Volunteer Recognition Event are 2 of actions that this group hopes to roll out in 2016.
If you have any questions or you would like to find out more please contact Bridie or Linda on 090 66 30252.
We would encourage you to visit the site and register your group, and if you have any volunteer vacancies post them on the site. Attached please find a leaflet about the service.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
